gsutil versus Transfer Service -  Both are free - so how do you decide which one to use where?

Do you need both ingress and egress?

Remember that Transfer Service is only for ingress. gsUtil can be used for both.

Where is the source data?

gsUtil is recommended for on premises to GCP Transfers

Transfer Service is recommended for cloud to cloud transfers

Ongoing (Scheduled) or One Time Transfer?

For ongoing transfers (ingress only), Transfer Service is easier to configure.
